Essen, April 19, 2023 – Seek and ye shall find? True, but it's taking longer and longer: Today, drivers in German cities and on company premises spend around 50 hours per year* alone searching for a parking space. DextraData and Smart City System Parking Solutions (Smart City System) are eliminating delivery delays caused by manual truck slot management in logistics and frustrations with company parking violators. The Fürth-based startup contributes highly robust parking sensors to the partnership, whose data is wirelessly and in real-time sent to and processed by DextraData's IoT tracking solution Dex7. The software now enables efficient parking and slot management. The Smart City System parking sensors with Dex7 are immediately ready for use by interested companies.

The partnership between DextraData and Smart City System guarantees companies, regardless of industry, optimal management and efficient utilization of parking areas. Using data from the parking sensors, Dex7 can, for example, create automated processes for truck slot management in logistics: If all loading ramps are occupied, the barrier to the company premises remains closed. When a slot becomes free, it opens automatically. Parking space management also becomes more efficient. Parking violators are automatically rewarded with a fine. Unneeded company parking spaces, on the other hand, can be automatically sublet overnight or on weekends.

How does it work? With the help of real-time data from Smart City System parking sensors, Dex7 creates a digital twin of the parking lot to display available or occupied parking spaces. The sensor communicates with Dex7 via the mobile network. LoRa or NarrowBand-IoT (NB-IoT) handles thick concrete in multi-story or underground car parks. Increased efficiency leads to savings in money and CO2 emissions.
