DextraData certified as a family-friendly employer

Essen, February 28, 2023 – The Bertelsmann Stiftung has awarded DextraData the "Family-Friendly Employer" quality seal. The seal is granted by an independent auditor based on an analysis and an anonymous employee survey regarding the company's family-friendly and life-phase-oriented human resources policy. The evaluation covers the areas of "Corporate and Leadership Culture," "Communication," "Work Organization," "Support Services," and "Strategy and Sustainability."

The employee survey confirmed a high level of satisfaction across all five categories. In terms of work organization, DextraData offers its employees maximum flexibility regarding working hours and location.

DextraData supports its employees in all matters concerning their families. This includes, among other things, providing kindergarten places at its headquarters in Essen, a tax-free childcare allowance, and the option to work from home. DextraData also ensures equal opportunities for all age groups, genders, and family constellations. Furthermore, vaccinations, vitamin boosters, and gym subsidies for family members of DextraData employees are offered. Additionally, free company bicycles are available for leisure activities with the family.

DextraData achieved outstanding survey results particularly in how managers interact with their teams. 93 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that their superiors generally support them in balancing work and private life. Moreover, measures such as sabbaticals, regular company updates and feedback sessions, as well as professional and personal development opportunities contribute to DextraData being perceived as a very positive employer. In fact, the vast majority of respondents would recommend the company at any time.

Respondents also confirmed that DextraData is characterized by open communication and transparent information policy. Employees have the opportunity to actively contribute their opinions and ideas and are encouraged to take responsibility. Furthermore, DextraData places great emphasis on the continuous development and training of its employees. Individual development plans are often created to foster and utilize the potential of employees. Such a corporate culture creates a positive and innovative work environment characterized by respect, appreciation, and cohesion.

"The compatibility of work and family has always been a high priority at DextraData. The challenges of the Corona pandemic, especially the closure of kindergartens and schools, further underscored our long-standing corporate culture in this area. To offer the best possible support to all employees, we developed individual solutions. We are pleased that our colleagues appreciate this," says Lena Walter, Manager HR at DextraData.

The Bertelsmann Stiftung is committed to the common good in the tradition of its founder, Reinhard Mohn. The foundation's work is based on the conviction that competition and civic engagement are essential foundations for social progress.

Family-friendliness is a decisive factor for Germany's future viability. Studies prove the positive social and economic effects arising from the family unit as the "nucleus of society." Thus, offerings for a better balance between family and work life benefit not only families with children but also companies, the state, and society.

Since 2003, the Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth have successfully collaborated on the project "Balance of Family and Work Life."

The project aims to raise public awareness of the importance of balancing family and career as part of a person's personal development and fulfillment. In particular, it seeks to set new standards in the workplace with proposals for contemporary collaboration between management and employees.

Therefore, one goal is to support companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, in building a family- and work-life-balance-oriented corporate culture, and in developing and implementing corresponding measures.

Since 1995, DextraData has supported companies in the planning and realization of IT projects, up to taking responsibility for ongoing operations.
